Scar placement

Question:
Is there a reason that the is so high towards the belly button for some?

I just had a revision and the possibilty of this happening had never crossed my mind as the placement that I originally had I really liked,I figured it would look similar, didn't realize how much was being removed. But the insicion was brought up about 2 inches or so, from what I can tell .

Is it just anatomy that leaves some women with a good distance between bb and pelvis and others with a small space?
Answer:

I was told it should drop a little and look more natural as months pass. Can't really be much help I just had mines 2weeks ago. Mines is pretty high also.

Hmmmmm. Good question. Maybe the s will find this post and be able to give us a good answer.
Answer:

good question, I thought the ps tries to keep it within the persons knicker line.
I want my as low as it can possibbly go!!!
Answer:

I think some of it has to do with the technique that they use as well. Mine is kindof like a "W" - it's still pretty ugly looking but it is really, really low which is good.
Answer:

I am interested too....my is higher than I would like. BUT, it is still better than the rolls, lol. I'm not one to run around in a teeny bikini anyways, so really the only people who will ever see it is me and my hubby. If you are worried before your TT, make sure you tell your PS you want it as LOW as possible!

Answer:

My is very low, right along my pubic line and where my thighs connect to my torso, however, my TT is not as tight as most seem to be. I think that the lower they go, the harder it is to get a tight result. Just my guess, but that is my opinion. I think sometimes they have to cut higher to get a tighter, flatter look.
Answer:

Hopefully it is partly swelling and it will drop a little.

Puku- they do try to keep it in the panty line but if you are wearing really low waisted panties it might not be hidden. I have to wear higher cut ones now to cover it.

Maybe BB placement/location plays a part in it. If the BB is lower the migt seem higher.
Answer:

I think my would be better lower than higher, I wont ever wear a bikini but would wear shorts and would not like the scar over top......we'll see I guess
Answer:

The possibilities here depend upon your pre-op measurements. Your can be low if your stretches that low. I place them as low as they will go.
Answer:

We did a placement survey months back...everyone seemed to be happiest with the lower placement.

If there is laxity of the pubic or upper thigh skin, pulling the tummy skin down tight will elevate this loose skin, causing the scar to raise, not lower over time. This will result in an an abnormally high pubic hairline anbd scar that is too close to the BB.

I do as Dr DiSaia...place the scar as low as possible and NOT use that little crease right above the hairline to place my incision.
