Question:
I have been agonizing over whether or not I want to do this. I am 5 ft. 7 inches, and weigh approx. 110 pounds, so weight is not a problem. However, after having twins, I hate my poochy tummy. I am constantly readjusting my tummy into my jeans, and when I sit, there is a bulge over the top of my clothes.
However, without clothes on if I suck in, I don't look half bad.
The problem is, I am not generally standing around with no clothes on and sucking in.
I am usually sitting, and bulging over the tops of my jeans.
Have any of you smaller women noticed a big enough difference after a TT to justify this surgery? Is it possible to still have that bulge after a TT?
Any and all thoughts and advice would be so appreciated!
Kimberly

Hi Kimberly,
I too did not need to lose any weight (5'5" and 125lbs) but I did want to lose the pouch. It has made a HUGE difference! Even with the swelling, my low rise jeans fit so much nicer. I am flat in the front! Near the end of the day I have some puffiness on the sides but that is it.
Now when I suck it in, I look amazing! LOL
I went to work for the first time yesterday (I am a teacher) and the few co-workers who knew I was getting this done over the summer just couldn't believe the difference! I am still wearing my old clothes (haven't dropped a dress size yet) but they just all fit so much better.
It has made the world of difference to me. I am no longer looking in the mirror disgusted with this huge bulge that won't go away no matter how much I exercise.

YES ! ! ! I am 5'8, weigh approx 123, have long thin legs, and long arms, and I had a nice roll in my gut area. I had a FTT with MR last july 28 of 2005, and I am much happier. I don't have to focus on sucking in my gut all the time. So many times after my hubby and i go out to eat, i feel like my gut is sticking way out, and i look down, and there's nothing there. I still FEEL FULL but don't look full.
My only disappointment is my is a little high on the sides. I'm hoping for them to fade allot by next summer. The line is very thin, even in my revision area, which i just had a month ago.
If you can grab a blob of when you are sitting down, i think you will be happy.

In all honesty, without seeing a pic, AND you dont have huge stretcmarks to lose.....I would get of the stomach before considering a TT and see if that helps.
I am 5'5 and not overweight but my last , 16 months ago, left me with extremely itchy stretchmarks that caused huge rashes...so I wanted to rip the off anyway. So for me, a FTT killed/cured 3 birds with one stone...lost the pooch, lost the stretchmarks and the itches that went with them...it also got rid of the pubic hair that was straggling its way up to my BB. The downside is numbness from BB down to the incision, a BB that is an inch too high and a little off centre, swelling and squareness? of the belly.
I'm just saying that lipo is less extreme...and if you like the way you look nekkid and dont have that many stretchmarks or saggy skin....consider lipo as the first option....one doesnt have the necrosis risk with that.
Granted, lipo doesnt fix the muscles...however if you have no fat there...the distorted muscles could give you the roundess of a pooch (that ALL slim teenagers do have) and so it wont look so un-naturally flattened/plastic. That would be a good thing.

It was definitly worth it for me. I had all the same issues as you. I'm 5'6", 120 lbs. Its sooo nice to not have that roll over my jeans or the low risers making me look preggo, cuz it shoved all the flab lower. And the I had on my flanks took care of the rolls on my sides. I say go for it!!

I realized yeterday wile doing my before pics that I really don't look that bad--especially when I suck it in (like I always do), but for a person like me who works out so intensly and does so much abdominal work, its annoying that I even have anything on my tummy blocking that six pack underneath.
It's also a size thing--I am 6'1" 180 lbs (170 of that lean body mass), and my hips and butt are a size 10, while my belly is a size 16 when I go with the measurements on the charts. I get jeans to fit my hips and butt (else they'd fall down) and my rolls over the top--plus imagine having 36 inseams on top of that--already hard to find jeans. I'm looking forward to simply not having that roll of skin! Even though I can fake it and suck it in, I am still getting it off. Plus I won't have to wear a slimmer when I wear a dress with thin material--THAT will be priceless, as will be sitting around naked or in my undies w/o being ashamed of that roll that is so out of place!

I had my TT and MR in July 2004. I am 5'5" and 119 pounds. I work out everyday and my pouch wouldn't go away. (I gained 58 pounds with my second son because of gestational ).
Someone of hear mentioned , but I caution you to ask your dr. if you need MR. Lipo will not bring your muscles back and that is what I needed. No amount of working out would have helped me with that.
So for me, I didn't lose any weight and I didn't change sizes, but I am much more confident and happy with my body. The faded well (except for a revision in the middle where I had bad s).
The only problem I still have is my BB. The scar stretched and it is visible all the way around. For me, that's a big problem because I can't show my BB.
Do your research and use this site. It's a great site.

I had my TT and MR on July 12, and it was the best thing I could have done for myself. I am like you- 5'4", 110lbs, work out religiously including abs, watch everything I eat, but was never able to get rid of roll over my jeans. I would be so embarrassed if my shirt rode up and showed the s or rolls. I too, had twins (piggy back, which is worse for the belly), and looked great in most clothes. But in a bikini, I felt as if everyone on the beach would directly look at my "pooch".
Now, I still have some stretch marks, and a little wrinkling , but it is so much smoother and better. When the swelling is completly gone, it will be awesome.
Go for it!

I am 5'7" and 124lbs. I've had 3 children. I gained between 45-50lbs with each one. I work out all the time and run 5K & 10K races. I could never get that flabby tummy to go away. I had a FTT, MR, on 8/16/06. I'm 13 PO and feel great!! I'm very happy with the results so far - my is a little too high, but he said I didn't have enough to pull in way down like I wanted. He got all the s, though. Besides the scar will fade to a fine white line anyway - I'm not posing for Playboy any time soon!! Best decision I've made lately.

I just wanted to jump in here and say that I am in the same situation as you. I am 5'10" 155 lbs. very muscular/ lean build.
I workout alot, kickboxing is my favorite. I have BA/MTT/ scheduled for 10-13-06, but have been wondering if I need the MTT. No MR is needed. I only have s down low, about 3 inches or so below my belly button. No pouch at all, just stretch marks. Maybe a little lipo on the ab area would be enough for me.
Decisions? Decisions? Let me know what you decide to have done. At my pre-op I hope to get these questions answered.
Good Luck

Hi there, I had the and really like the results. I saw some of the others said instead. Lipo removes fat cells not excess . The skin will not return to its original shape so I got the tummy tuck. I am 3 wks po and all clothes fit nicely, no skin hanging out anywhere, no adjusting to be done. It really is worth it for the self esteem. I am 5'3, 115lbs and my stomach looks awesome!

I'm so glad you posted this. I am also a fairly small person (5'1, 110 lbs.) After my 2 babies I have some muscle separation and a little extra . My separation starts from under my boobs and goes almost all the way down. I feel and look 5 months pg. when sitting. I can also fake it pretty well and hide it nicely under clothes but I am so tired of it. I am going to have a MTT w/ MR, hernia repair and flank/hip in Feb/March. It was a horribly agonizing decision for me due to all the reasons you've mentioned. Once I finally decided and got dh's support, I'm ready to go! Good luck to you!

FWIW: I'm 5'3 and currently weigh about 120 lbs. My three kids were all huge (the smallest was 8 lbs 4 oz) with even bigger heads. My belly never returned to normal after that last --even with all the situps I did. would not have helped one iota either as I lost the last 15 lbs to reach my target weight and was left with nothing but saggy skin that would make a nice bulge over the tops of my jeans. Ugh!
I also really hated having that skin hang over my jeans while I reached overhead for something. I was always self-conscious about the s and s that showed whenever I did that.
I do not regret the money I spent on this FTT and would do it again in a heartbeat. My clothes now fit 150 times better than before and now when my belly shows, I no longer hide it.

So here's a question--how was the whole swelling thing for you all and how about weight gain? I've heard a lot about both here and wasn't sure if it had anything to do with size and weight history, KWIM? I personally mainain weight very very well--hard for me to lose and hard for me to gain, though with work, I can do both, LOL! So I was just wondering about other 'smaller' women (I've never considered myself small, LOL! Very very tall wookie woman, yes!).

Hi Amy,
I lost 5 pounds immediately after surgery and have gained that back with swelling, but no more. I have small rolls on my hips that are swelling...I didn't have those right after surgery or first thing in the morning. I am still one inch thicker in my waist but am starting to see some more definition.
