12 weeks of Necrosis

Question:
Well today is 12 weeks that I've been dealing with this necrosis & I put new pics up. I wish I could say it's getting better but I don't see any improvement yet.

I've been sharps debrided twice in the past two weeks and am doing enzymatic debridement this week. Dr. said no wound vac yet because he wants to have a well prepared surface and my wound just isn't there yet. I go back in again on Saturday.

He said it might be possible to get it close to closed up in a month if we continue to do debridements and can get it to a point where we can use the wound vac on it. I'm thinkin' a month is pretty optimistic at this point, but I hope he's right...I have a halloween party I really want to go to!
Answer:

It looks a little smaller. It will get better. I'm having a necrosis e. Not sure if it's going to happen. I have bruising but no blisters. I' on day 6. PS sai if it does happen it will only be superficial (I hope)
Answer:

Jenny, hang in there with it. It will get better. My necrosis showed up before I even left the hospital. It seems I was the only one worried about it for about a week and then everyone else joined in with me. I know it's so discouraging to look at it, much less work with, but it will get better. I had my surgery last January and had my revision last week. I look forward to it all being put to bed now. It took me a little while to realize that it was nothing I, or my PS, did to cause the necrosis. I don't smoke, in good physical shape, and eat very nutritiously. It's just the luck of the draw in many cases. Try to keep your chin up. We're here for you.

Answer:

Ger, I hope it's only superficial at worst. Mine is about an inch deep in the deepest part. Ick! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

BellRose, I'm so glad your journey is finally over! What a long haul! Was your revision covered by insurance? I know what you mean about realizing it's no ones fault. Every time I see my Dr. I feel guilty for not healing fast enough. I'm keeping up the but it's tough. I'm craving comfort foods, not tuna fish.

Kristalea, Thanks so much for your pr. I had allot of procedures done at once (inner thighs, , , arm lift) so I try to concentrate on looking at how many things went right. It could have been much worse! But when the pain gets bad, or when I realize I might not be able to make it out to see friends, then I start feeling sad.

Thanks everyone for making me feel better!
Answer:

Thanks Jenny

He seems to think it has to do with a disease I have that causes circolation problems. When I had my we thought it would be necrosis but it was just deep tissue bruising. Also in that area he had to get rid of some major tissue lump due to . So I'm really hoping it's that. I'm all bandandaged up so I won't see it until next appoitment. I do hope if it's necrosi it's superficial.
Answer:

Jenny, I know it looks bads now that you can see the fat and all...unfortunately with necrosis, it looks worse before it looks better. Your belly is all ready to start growing new and fat now! You will start seeing improvement!
Soon this will all be a bad memory. I know what you mean about feeling guilty about your slow healing. I felt EXACTLY the same! It wasn't until my last appointment that I felt like I was making good progress. It can get really y. But it'll eventually be over! HUGS!
