IT IS POSSIBLE--BACK TO WORK ONE WEEK AFTER!

Question:
Hi everybody! This is the crazy girl who last week thought she could go back to work the same week as surgery and then start a new job one week after the surgery. I had FTT and of the hips & flanks on Monday, 9/18 and I feel awesome!! Luckily my PS did not need to do any MR so I am sure that has helped me a great deal. Both drains came out yesterday!! I think that was the worst part of the whole experience--getting them out. (I passed out.) I kept up with the pain meds for the first 2 days just because I felt it was in my best interest, and then afterwards--none. I drove myself to my dr's appointmt yestderday and even made dinner last night. Besides tiring easily, I feel absolutely wonderful and couln't be happier with the results!! I was expecting so much more pain but it ended up feeling exactly like my c-sections. I must have a high tolerance for pain and really just don't have time for it given my childlike husband and 2 toddlers that I have to deal with. Just wanted to share as I didn't think it was possible to feel this good so soon after. Time to go shopping now and get ready for new job on Monday!

Congrats.. you're right.. the MR is the real killer factor. I mean, the insicion is basically numb, right?

Glad to hear you're doing so well and are so happy w/your results.

Where are your pics??
Answer:

ya i believe if you had mr you would not be at work 1 week later mine still hurts i went back to work 11 days ago after a month off. good for you at not needing it done.
Answer:

Hi Marla! I read your original post, but didn't respond. I knew you could do it though! I had a TT with extensive MR and was back at work in 2 weeks, so I figured you'd be ok. I'm glad you are! Some are not as fortunate as we are and had long hard recoveries. I'm so thankful for my easy one, as I'm sure you are.

Congrats on your surgery.

Answer:

Congrats! I'm glad it's all working out.
Answer:

Yep, if my abs weren't sore I wouldn't have any pain at all, except the flanks, which also feels like sore muscles.
Answer:

Glad you are feeling so great!! I am going back to work at 11 days po so hopefully I will be ok as I have high pain tolerance.
Answer:

Yep my only pain is my abs. I can't laugh, sneeze cough, hiccup. OUCH!!!

I had major MR when I asked the nurse how bad my abs were she held up her full hand width. Everytime I move I feel like I am busting a stitch or two, if I take off my it feels like my guts are going to spill out all over the place. I can't take my vicodin anymore because it caused me to be constipated even though I was taking max doses of fiber pills everyday, so I am just dealing with it.
Answer:

Bless all of you that can go back to work so soon. I am jealous. I am 5 days po and feel like crap. I have no energy but it is getting better everyday. I just could not imagine going back to work soon.
