Itching out of control!

Question:
I am 17 days PO FTT, MR, BL, and BA with . I have itched since about day 3 home from surgery. It is not just my incisions it is everywhere. They thought maybe it was the antibiotic ointment, then my oral antibiotic but I havent' used those in over a week. I am about to claw myself silly. And I am going to go into a coma if I take any more Benadryl! Has anyone else experienced this? I understand a little itching is normal but this seems crazy.
Answer:

Could be from your stretching. I had some itching too. I used some hydrocortisone (not on the incision though). If the incision is itching from dryness, you can use vaseline on it. It is kinda nasty but works. Also, if you are not wearing anything between your skin and the , it can irritate your skin. I wore men's A shirts under mine and it worked like a charm. Good luck

I had bad itching too, early on. It was so awful, like torture. I couldn't sleep at night. I think that it was due to a steri-strip allergy I had. My body was turning red all over, and the areas around my incision were inflamed. Time was the only thing that made it better, I tried prescription s which seemed to make it worse. Good luck, it does go away.

KIM,

Please try Benadryl Liquid and hydrocortisone , and I was allergic to everything. The tape, the stitched and girgle. I still break out I had my surgery on Oct 11th and I am still wearing and I break out. Also, try and keep yoursaelf lotioned and if you can't take any more put an on the itchy parts. I know sometimes benedryl can knock you out but I always find that it is better to have a few hours of not itching then to scratch and have my look crazy because I scratched it too much. I also had some lotriman generic and it helped soooooooo much. so if you can get a prescription that might help. I am allergic to the stiches even though they disolvable, the PS had to pull them out anyway and the inflamation went down right away. I have a great result regardless of the itch , but I am still in the trenches with you on this, I have posted about this before. How is your result? I hope that you are still happy you did this, I love my result and wouldn't trade anything for the results I got. I guess I am almost 2 months, I promise it will get better.
Answer:

Funny you should say that. My wife had to her back and flanks about a week ago. She never complained about pain when she had her TT last April or another lipo a month later, in May. However, she's been going crazy with the itch on this one.

Thanks for the advice 'cause I didn't know what else to do for her. I sure didn't want to aggravate the condition by infecting her by scratching.

By the way, here is a link to my reasons for losing.

rxing,

I tried Benedryl and hydrocortisone, none of it helped. And now it isn't a problem anymore, it went away on its own. But during the few weeks I had it, it was complete agony. I would never want to relive it. Thanks for the suggestions though. I am okay with my results overall. Still not as tight as I wish, but I think I was never meant to have a truly flat midsection.
Answer:

Try an anti-histamine medication that people use for hives (or allergies)...one that causes drowsiness is best for night-time. I used to take Phenergan Aventis (I think that was prescription) and that worked well...but over the counter ones for itchies/hives do work sometimes.
