Insomnia

Question:
11 days post op here, still am getting up numerous times through the night, I am taking three percosets a day, do you think the pain meds can cause the insomnia?
Answer:

It should get better as time goes by. I recommend taking one of your pain pills at night and 2 benadryl. Of course check with your as I'm certainly NOT one!!!! That is what I took for my "Insomnia" which his me around 1 week post op! It was horrible. I would find myself working until 2 or 3am which was great for my sales but geez I needed some sleep!

I promise that it will get better. I truly think that the pills gave me insomnia too. Well then again, I'm off my pain meds but I'm still taking my Benadryl. I guess I'm still nervous of my Insomnia coming back. I'm still not comfortable sleeping in bed although I prefer it over the dreaded recliner. I was in that thing for 21 days and I wanted to toss it out the window every morning. It killed my butt and back!

Good luck with your Insomnia. I hope it gets better soon!

Take Care,
Amanda
Answer:

Pain meds sometimes have that effect on me....they say may make you drowsy....wish they did. I just called my POS and told him that I couldnt sdleep and he prescribed some sleeping meds...mom picked them up and I was off to sleep! Call your PS and ask him if he can prescribe or suggest a sleep aid!
Answer:

perocet has a tendency too "wire" me....I feel like I could clean my entire house in 2 hours when I am on it.
