Here are the questions I took with me to my pre-op! Get all your answers (although you will no doubt think of more after you leave your pre-op!) and good luck! Whe are you having it done?
Honest appraisal for realistic expectations –
The only thing that I truly expect up front is your best shot. I realize that I
am”coming to the end (or at it!) of my bikini season” but I would like to go into it with you as if it the beginning!

1. Will my upper “hang”?
2. Will my incision site “pucker” or gather?
3. Will my sides or upper abs be “grab-able”?
4. Will my belly button be sewn from the inside for a better ? Location of bb?
5. Will my sides be contoured and not “muffin-toppy” or dog eared? Extend further for better results?
6. Will my scar be nice and curved (a big smile) or zig-zaggy? Is this a high tension lateral tt?
7. How is my skin tone/elasticity? What s will be gone? Tears? Where will the incisions be placed?
8. Will my ribs impede any tightening? Is there a possibility of removing too much skin (being too tight)?
9. Will I have any vertical scars – either from an old belly button or more skin requiring removal?
10. How does the skin being stretched vertically from weight gain and loss impact the whole ?
11. How are revisions, if necessary, handled?
12. Scar therapy? ScarGuard, , Vit E oil, aloe, , cocoa butter, cortisone shots?
13. Diet before/after surgery?
14. s ~ papain, , pineapple, , aloe?
15. Incidents of necrosis? Infection? How does the skin stick back to the tissue? Drains?
16. Constipation?
17. Anesthesia effects on the body/hair?
18. Diet before and after surgery? For good skin/healing?
19. How long after for work out (or walk, at least)?
20. Weight gain, stretch marks, breathing, skin elasticity?
21. Pain? How bad, really? Pain management (no codeine, vicodin or morphine – only percocet).

Unfortunately, I did not have this great list at my pre-op. I'm sure my PS will be just thrilled when I hit him with it on Friday morning before surgery!

This is probably late but you can always call the PS and have him answer.....
1. What will be used to close incision? (sutures, staples, glue??)
2. What would be the placement? Should I wear bikini or panties to help with placement on surgery day?
3. Can I suggest the type and size of bellybutton I want?
4. How long do I wear my compression ?
5. Do I need to get any scar supplies like: , silicone strips? How long after surgery would I begin to use them?
6. What do you suggest to reduce chances of developing blood clots? Wearing support hose?
7. What do you think about Lymphatic massage? Do you recommend anyone?
8. When can I begin exercising, using abdominals?
9. Do you recommend using a pain pump? If not, why not? Is there extra cost associated with pain pump? How much?
10. What do I do if I get my period?
11. What if I get sick? How sick is sick before you would postpone surgery?
