ps says no binder???

Question:
My ps had told me that I needed no at all. He says that he feels that they are inconsequential. Would anyone care to shed some light? Anyone not worn a binder... what are the results?
Answer:

My PS also said no . I didn't feel comfortable with that. I ordered my own binder from the makemeheal website. When I get home from the hospital I will put it own. I just think I will feel safer with the extra support.

Answer:

i'm sooooooooo jealous!
I hated my , but wore it because my PS told me too.
You should be happy, and always do what YOUR PS says, not anyone else's.
Answer:

well....does the make you appear flatter??????
Answer:

My ps put a wrap-around on me in the OR--I wore it all the time for the first week. But, after my drains came out (day 7) I wore Spanx part of the time that second week. My ps said to wear it some, but use common sense. I am on Day 20 and I am barely wearing it anymore. I have started playing tennis, power walking everyday, and being quite active without it. And my tummy is FLAT! I am also wearing my regular pants and jeans.
Answer:

The made me feel safer. Without it I felt very vuknerable. But in the end it bruised my stomach and I still have a light across my stomach

I don't think you will need the scar...but it sure did make me feel more supported!

Answer:

What's the difference between a and this garment I have to wear 24/7? Mine is an over the shoulder strap, down to the thighs. It's a mesh-like material, pretty comfy but I feel like I should be sky-diving half the time

Answer:

So do you not have to wear anything??! Not even a ?
Answer:

I didnt wear anything, I found in the early days that my swelling was a lot less than others on this board
Answer:

I wore my for 6 days only and don't feel like I swelled anymore than what others have described. In fact, I had a PS appointment this week and he said I am only 20% swollen. I definitely see the swelling a lot less these days. My PS also said that wearing the binder, helps with the swelling temporarily, but that's about it. He also said, that too tight of a binder creates creasing and lines in the that can take months to go away. Every PS is different and you have to have confidence in what your PS says and if that is right for you. Good luck!
Answer:

I go in tommorrow and like your ps my ps said I dont need a or any kind of garment and when I asked why he said because it constricts the blood flow to the area and that wasn't a good thing so I left it alone even though it sounds like there are more people with them than without them I will follow my dr's orders to the t!
