How long until lower muscles allow you to stand straight?

Question:
I am 21 days post op , breast aug, and inner thigh . I was wondering how long it took anyone to be able to stand completely straight or lie flat comfortably. It seems to be the lower part of my abdomen that "pulls" when I try to do either. Not severely, but it feels like I can't arch my back and tilt my pelvis without feeling the muscle area pull. Thanks for your input. I just don't want to be walking around in June with my hips forward because I can't stand up straight completely......
Answer:

I was upright by week two.

Some on here say their PS tells them to stretch. Has your made any suggestions?
Answer:

I have not asked yet. I was back last Monday for 100 cc removal of a seroma...which really wasn't bad, but I felt so much better afterwards. I forgot to ask much of anything. I have to go back on the 26th for another bit of draining most likely, so I will ask him about it then. I was just wondering what the norm was. I can "fake" standing straight, but when I went to the tanning bed for the first time today, I realized just how tight it feels when I try to lie entirely flat. It does seem to get better every day, just wanting a time frame for what others experienced. Thanks for your comment.
Answer:

With a TT and BA, it's hard to say. I'm at 5 days PO after a TT and am able to stand upright. I can't walk upright, but can at least stand straight. You've got a double whammy, because even after my BA 6 years ago, it was several weeks before I could stand completely upright or lift my arms up over my head without any discomfort.

I would talk to your PS about stretching, because this really helped me. Especially with the back pain I am experiencing. I just lay down on my back and keep laying further down slowly until I'm completely flat. Slowly, and there's little to no discomfort.

Hope this helps. It will definately be before June when you get rid of your "hunhback". No worries!

Take care!

Answer:

Thanks, that makes me feel better. I was sort of "afraid" to really try to "stretch" anything yet. I will definitely ask him on Monday. I am going to get to go to Cancun in June and really really want to wear a bikini....and look good too. He says that I will be bathing suit ready by then, I hope he is right.
Answer:

I know what you are saying. I am 7 weeks today....and I am still tight. Really tight! I can walk straight but my pelvis and lower stomach are really really tight. I am just now able to lie flat on my back. Give it a couple more weeks! I think eventually it will all stretch back out...hopefully just a little bit!

Thanks for your reply. I was wondering too, if it makes a difference if you have tight muscles before the MR. I have been working out for eight months and really focusing on my abs throughout, unfortunately there is nothing you can do with after 3 -9 pound babies... That is why I had this done. I know he did do the MR so I am wondering if it made it tighter in any way or maybe it wouldn't really matter. In any case, I just want to reach up and stretch so bad....but can't yet...LOL. Between the ba and tt I am still limited and a little sore. I will be patient, sort of... Maybe...ha ha.
Answer:

Three weeks for me. I thought I was never going to be upright again. I didn't lay completely flat til about four weeks. Hope that helps.
Answer:

Yes it does. I expect then for it to get better in the next three weeks. I guess maybe I will be ready by June for that swimsuit. I am going to try to post my s, but have to wait until the kids go to school tomorrow before I take any. They still don't know I had anything done... And I don't plan on saying anything.
Answer:

I was standing straight with a little effort in a week--I am four weeks out and sitting here in Kauai in a tankini with the top rolled up! I am still a little swollen, but the tummy is FLAT. You should look great by June. I am going bikini shopping today.
Answer:

That sounds great! If I didn't have an annoying seroma, mine would stay flat. Actually, sometimes I think it might be too flat, almost concave. But I think after all is said and done it will be great. I CAN NOT wait. Thanks for sharing. Hey, how long did it take for your belly button to heal and not be pink?
Answer:

Hi CatherineM - I'm 7 days post op and have been standing up straight and laying down straight since yesterday. I still feel the "stretch" below though so I don't do it for too long.

I wish mine were more "concave" than swollen! You lucky, lucky gal!
Answer:

I guess I am saying I can not stand up straight or lie down flat, though to you it might look like I am. I can just tell that I am not quite standing right yet. The bed is okay to lie flat, but the hard tanning bed was torture. I had to kind of lay sideways....we love to torture ourselves to look good dont we? The fluid from my seroma is slowly creeping back in so I decided I am going to wait until Monday, after having it drained again before taking pics to post. That will be more accurate as far as my progress. I have not taken any thus far, didn't want any....but after seeing others pics, I would love to gauge my progress. Looking in the mirror daily really doesn't let you know how far you have come because you are looking every day. Oh well, I can start now I guess.
Answer:

To answer the BB question--at a little over four weeks out, mine is a little pink but I am exposing it every day here at the pool at our resort. I had my stitches inside the BB, so there is no . I am enjoying my time in the sun!
Answer:

I was sort of concerned about my bb at first, it looked pretty yucky. But it is healing nicely and I really want to have it pierced... How long should I wait B4 doing that? Got any recommendations? Mine is still pink and still has scab on one side. I do not want to pierce it until it looks nice b/c I wouldn't show anyone if my bb looked unhealed. You know?
