Question:
Hello everyone - going to see my PS today. I'm supposed to get my drains out and I'm super excited about that! They are so annoying!
I'm a bit nervous also though. Do they hurt when coming out? BE HONEST! LOL!
Answer:
Jessica - good for you in getting your drains out. I only have one and it isn't draining much, but since I'm only Day 4 PO, I sure he won't take it out. My drain has not bothered me at all, so I'm ok leaving it in as long as necessary if it helps.
Most everyone here posts that you don't feel the drain coming out, but everyone has their own experience. Just think that I can't be worse than what you have already gone thru and you will be fine!
Answer:
I was so nervous when I found out my dr. was going to take out my drains....and I was so surprised, I hardly felt a thing. Even the one that was really inflamed didn't hurt. I know everyone has their own experience, but don't get all tense about it, maybe if you're relaxed it will help. I felt like a new woman once the drains were gone.
Hugs,
Marsha

Hi guys, I love this site and thank you all for sharing info. I had my TT on 3/12 and this has been a great resource as I recover. I just had my drains out yesterday and it felt so much better. It did not hurt but was a bit uncomfortable as they cut the stitch and pulled. I have some fluids still draining from the incision which the PS said was normal but is requiring me to use gauze or a maxi pad at the site to absorb it. The fluid drains at a faster rate when up moving around. It's Not a lot of fluid and mostly clear. Anyway, just thought I would share my experience w/everyone. lauren
