HOW LONG AFTER SURGERY CAN ONE GO OUT AND SHOW OFF NEW BODY

Question:
My surgery date is scheduled for 4/11/2006. I am going to Jamaica in July or August. I also want to be able to show off my new body this summer. Do you guys think I will be able to show off my new body this summer and on my vacation with only having my surgery in April. How long after surgery did you guys wait to go out and showed off your new body?
Answer:

My surgery is April 4. I plan on strutting like a peacock on the 5th!!!
Actually, from what I've seen a month sounds reasonable, but the swelling may still be an issue - depending on where you started, and in my case, even swelling will be better than pre-op!!!

Answer:

I was able to start wearing some regular clothes at 3 weeks. I still deal with swelling but not near as bad as it was a week or two ago.
Answer:

I was back in pre-op clothes after one week. I think that you will do fine after a few month. Depending on your swelling should depend on what bathing suit you should flaunt...So I would bring all types of suits on your vacation depending on your swelling. But I do believe that you should be fine on your vacation, but just do not over do it too much, but enjoy yourself
Answer:

I plan on waiting one month before I go back out salsa dancing. But I am sure I won't be on the floor that much with my husband. Maybe after 6 weeks, I will be able to actually dance. Looking forward to some new salsa dresses. I will be the new hot white chick in the salsa club.

LOL) 1 week, bought my flexxee and started wearing them under my workout clothes feeling like I was looking good!!! (remember I was not quite upright just yet....It didn't matter. I show anyone that wants to see. Now being 8 weeks po, I am wearing tight t-shirts and love not seeing any rolls!!! WooHoo!!!
Answer:

I was back in my pre-op clothes two weeks after surgery, and was strutting my new stuff in a slinky dress as well as a bikini at two and a half weeks!
Answer:

My preop clothes were too big, but I could not go shopping, so I waited until today. I used to buy size 5's....today I bought a size 1!!!!! I never thought I would be that tiny only 20 days post op. I still have swelling. So be prepared to show off that body pretty quickly. I think we deserve to...it was alot of work!!!! Next week....BIKINI SHOPPING!!!!!

Answer:

I was 3 wks before I finally got out with the girls for ladies night!
Answer:

I have to say that this is a very broad question and everyone is different wtih te swelling . It depends on your bodies abiltiy to deal with the trauma of surgery and if you swell up or not .
I know I did .
I can say that from
6am in the morning until noon I was fine . then I turned into a pumpkin . bit like Cindereally hahha .. I had to run home from work or wrap a cardigan around my waist .. Not to mention the discomforting feeling of swelling .. Ths pretty much was the way of things for me for nine months out.
It gets better and if you make the most of it you can still have fun with your new body even with the swelling . Perhaps do the bikini in the morning and use a wrap or cover up in the afternoon .. thats what I did ..
I did wear a bikini two months after surgery and it had been over 10 years since I wore won prior to the tuck . jade
Answer:

Joymet, you crack me up!
Answer:

AS SOON AS THE DAMNED DRAINS COME OUT
Answer:

We are all so different. I was a worst case I guess. I did not want to go out into public until I was 3-4 weeks PO. I am almost 8 months PO now and in a bikini. If the weather was warm, I would of been in it at about 5 months.

It all depends on swelling. You may not swell bad.

Take care,
