I really didn't have a choice because I work in the hospital where it was done. I know people are supposed to maintain confidentiality but it doesn't happen. and we have to fill out fmla papers and list exactly what we are having done, which goes to the boss and the employee health department. we are not allowed to use sick time for elective plastic surgery, we have to use vacation time or unpaid, and there is no short term disability for elective plastic surgery where I work.
Answer:
I work in a hospital too and can file FMLA papers. I am going to try to wing it and use PTO. I have a hernia repair and gonna use that has a cover. At our hospital you can use FMLA for cosmetic surgery. I just filled some out for a employee. I was surprised to see it go threw.
My mother thinks she is comijng to the house to help me with a hernia surgery. I guess I will have to tell her soon. Love her to death, but she just quite dont understand.

Hey there
I've been telling my boss and colleagues its "women´s plumbing" that keeps them quiet. But today, the administrator told me I have to bring in a letter confirming I´m having surgery!
I was shocked, because I was going to take the time off work as "unpaid". My boss is so nice and generous, cos he says it´s sick time and I´ll still get paid and still be entitled to my full holiday!
Why am i so shockec? Because I´ve only been in this job since the beginning of February and told him at the interview that I would need two weeks off in April for a planned operation.
So I´ve just ask my kind PSto write me a letter saying I´m having "abdominal" surgery. I hope he will do that. And I hope they don´t know anything about plastic surgery as he is one of the top PS´s in Barcelona.

Answer:
I told anyone who asked, and even those who didn't. I haven't heard one negative comment, although I'm sure they're out there.
I was asked how my boobs were feeling by my old manager...she heard I had my boobs done, too ! (I didn't). I assured her that the "girls" were just fine, thank you.
Everyone is super nice about it and ask lots of questions and are curious. It's not common around me, so I'm paving the way, I guess. I'm so proud of my decision, and so thrilled with my results, I want to shout it from the rooftops...but I remain calm and demure.
