7 months post op, too late for lymphatic massage?

Question:
Looking into lymphatic massage but at 7 months post op does anyone think it's worth it? I think I still have a bit residual swelling in thighs ect and want to give it a shove before I start seriously stepping up the weightloss attempt.

So am I too late or do you think it would still be helpfull?

Answer:

No, if you have swelling, it means that lymphatic system still need some help. I found it very beneficial.
Answer:

No way, they are beneficial. Be sure you have someone who knows how to do them. Massage Envy has a good package, I got one for Christmas from my 4 girls.
Answer:

I didn't start going for them until I was a little past 5 months. Its not too late at all. I went 3 times a week for around 2 months and lost 11 inches in total!! It also helped the swelling I had in my thighs, hips and butt.
I say go for it!!!
Answer:

Wow amylynn that is encouraging! I will continue researching in my area and see what happens. Thanks for your encouragement.

Remember me, HON? I have been going nuts trying to decide if I should do the lymphatic message thingy too! Did find a few in my area, AFRAID OF THE COST THOUGH! That or velasmooth!
Answer:

Amy, did the inches ever return like the swelling does? I HATE that
Answer:

Getin2 how could I forget you?!

I have spent all day trying to find somewhere I can get this massage and I'm stumped so far.

And that is a good question, is the inch loss long term or does it come back after the next cup of tea?

Answer:

I have a post about this.....Yesterday I posted "please read my post" and on the board I have the whole story dated March 12 "lymphatic drainage---my story". I just started the massage last week and I will be 8 months post op on the 21st. GO for it!!! Just after 2 sessions I have a huge difference, and my insurance pays for it I hope this helps
Answer:

I am going to call for price quote tomorrow.

Just went back and read your posts & that's it I am gonna do it, what would it cost you if insurance didn't pay?
Answer:

I just scheduled 4 lymphatic messages! 1st one being March 31. 1 hour sessions at $50.00 bucks a pop. Is this a good price? Amy, Rabe, I have questions for you throughout this post. Oh, I hope this works. LOOLA any luck finding someone near you who does this?
Answer:

My lymphatic massages are done through a chiropractor, maybe that is why it is billable through insurance. Also, you need to get your ps to refer you. Good luck---it really works!!!
Answer:

Thanks Rabe! I can't wait
Answer:

I'll go for them to only if the swelling does not return.

Amylynn and the other-- could you post and let us know what happen after you stop going for them?

Thanks gals!
