Swebby, OMG, my son has Aspergers! What a small world

Question:
I went down and found the Where is Swebby post. Was I floored when I read your post!

My son, cousin and brother in law all have Asperger's. My son, who is 10, has been diagd since he was 8. My husband has some Aspie traits, but has never been diagnosed. My son, on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the most symptomatic, is about an 8. It has been an interesting ride, but I wouldnt trade him for the world. He's my "little Professor", and the love of my life.

I'm going to have to go back and read your post, but I just had to get this posted. There is an organization called OASIS, and they have a website as well. Just google the word OASIS and you should come up with it. If I have any more info for you can I PM you? I'll share anything I can with you. Yahoo groups may have an adult Aspergers group too.

HUGS!!!

Answer:

Sure MaryAnn.. I've already found oasis, and aspire is another good site too. Have you seen faas.org?

There seems to be alot more out there on children than adults, and it certainly comes with a different set of problems. I wonder how different my dh's life would've been if he'd been aware of his differences the whole time.

At the very least I bet his confidence level would be a little higher.

Feel free to PM me anytime..

Maybe we need to get MMH to start a new board, huh!
Answer:

My darling, Cameron, is 4 1/2 and has been diagd as Autistic - remember when you didn't know anyone with Autism or Aspergers? He's very social, cute as a bug, loving and silly - yet competely non-verbal. He has alot of autistic traits - finger flicking, some rocking, sensory issues (especially autidory). He's going to have a hard time when mom can't pick him up or can't crawl into bed with him.

Answer:

I don't have anyone in my family with ausbergers or autism but I have a few friends with autistic kids.

They have had great results with Mannatech ambrotose - glyconutrients.

I'm not a Mannatech rep and not looking to sell anything. I just have seen the changes in their kids and thought I'd pass the information on.

put in "gluconutrients" and "autism" into google and see what you can find - its amazing.

They also found their autistic kids were wheat and dairy intolerant - once they cut this out of their diet they were able to absorb the nutrients from food better.

Hope this helps.
