Is it possible to have MR with out relocating the BB?

Question:
I had my 6 week check up yesterday and the Dr is talking about revisions. I have not been totally happy at all . I have a fat bulge above my BB that is bd. The more the swelling gest down the more loose there seems to be. I asked him about the MR and if he did it all the way up and he said yes. I have never been sore up the and from my first po visit he has tried to asperate that area. Now he wants to my abs and pull the skin down more but not relocate the bb. I will have to pay for the lipo and I really don't think that it is fair. So I guess the question is did he do MR and still not move my BB??? Thanks Tara

Hi Tara, I think you look amazing!! I know it's hard for us to see things that you see b/c s don't always capture everything. Your looks amazing. Did your PS do the stitches under the ? Mine does it that way and I can tell because my scar is like a pencil line, very much like yours. I am very glad she did that vs. staples or other more "jagged" looking external stitches.

As far as your actual BB question, from what I've seen watching the procedure on TV I don't think the actual belly button can be "moved." I have seen the surgeon's feel for it under the skin, so they make a mark on the new skin that is being pulled down, and they know where to cut to poke the BB through again. It might move very slightly, but I don't know if it's possible to move it so dramatically that it looks freakish. That's my un-educated opinion so maybe one of the docs here will answer it for you.

I hope if you get revisions it takes care of any problems. From this perspective you look great. Good luck.
Answer:

Tara, did you ever ask him if he 'floated' your bb?

Then yes, he could do upper mr.

Floating is where they cut the bb from underneath - leaving it attached to the belly, and allow it to float down when the is pulled down.

In this case, he couldn' have removed much skin.. and you can only speculate how much MR he did..

I still think you look pretty darn good tho!
Answer:

floating is what they did with my bb. My bb is definitely lower (but it needed to be). This was all discussed before hand, pics drawn etc. I totally see how they could do the MR without moving the bb, but I don't see how the ps could remove any extra (which was the majority of my problem) without moving the bb. My MR, however didn't go all the way up, just slightly above the bb.

Hi,

My BB was floated and MR was done to my upper abs. At almost 6 wks they are still sore to the touch and puffy. Be careful that your BB doesn't get pulled down too far if you go for the revisions. I am uncomfortable with how low mine is.

Answer:

Tara maybe the Docs on this site will look at your s and give an opinion. I definantly see some protrusion on your upper belly.

I had a new procedure done and had my belly button removed and the PS made a fake one. He says it looks more natural. It also makes it so there is less discomfort from the pulling sensation. I will post some pictures later this week.

Thanks for your replys. I think that he did float the BB but that wasn't what we talked about right before surgery. I think that I am just upset about the whole more money thing and having to take more time off work and the for 6 weeks again. Oh I need anti depressants. Thanks you all again. Tara

I had 4-5 inches of removed, a MR and the PS just floated my belly button down. Its low now, but before it was too high, so.....
