Question:
Hey Swebby,
I have been reading your posts for a while now about MR and your experiences. I was not really sure what my PS would do, but I did ask that he pull me tight as that was my biggest problem with my tummy (split muscles vs lots of extra ). I am now 1 week post op and still miserable LOL! I can't stand anywhere near straight and my lower back is killing me. I am guessing he pulled me pretty tight since I am still really hunched over which is good, but plese help me see the light at the end of the tunnel. My mother is here until Saturday and then I am on my own with 3 small kids. Will I be considerably better towards the 2 week mark than I am now? I know I will still not be able to carry my kids or do lots of housework, but will I at least want to get out of bed and get on with my day? I guess I just need someone who has been there to remind me that it will get better because the pain is winning at this point.
Thanks in advance,

By the end of week 2, I was able to go out to the store and have lunch w/friends. I still walked a bit like a granny, but nothing like the 1st week.
I went back to work on day 19.. Sitting in a straight chair wore me out, but I went out tot he car at lunch and tried to walk around often.
So if you can put your feet up during the day, and just worry about the basics of taking care of your kids - school drop-offs, making a lite dinner, doing a couple of loads of laundry, etc.. then you'll be just fine.
I wouldn't plan on too many all day kind of events, but you'll be able to get around some at that point. Just make sure you rest as much as you can.
Did your PS say how tight he pulled you? Or what his normal practice was? I'm wondering if what you said affected his work, or if he would've done that anyway. I don't think it hurts to put it in the back of his mind tho.,
Just remember, this wasn't going to be a cake walk no matter what.. at least now you can feel confident you got the best results possible,
Have you had a look yet?? That's what got me thru the worst of it.. when I took a shower and looked down at my new tummy, I could almost cry.. My dh would just look at me and say "wow! unbelievable"
Keep thinking of all those wow moments ahead!!

Thank you so much for responding so fast. I feel much better after reading your post.
I saw a lot of s of my PS's work and the ones I saw had great ab definition like your pictures so he might pull them pretty tight as a rule. I didn't want to take any chances though so I was sure to mention to him what I was wanting like you had recommended. I saw 2 other ladies super hunched over at the office yesterday at my post op apt so it looks like he might be pretty agressive with all his patients.
I did have a quick look down during my shower yesterday and could see things I haven't been able to see since before having kids. I was definitely thrilled with that. The poochy belly is definitely gone for good. It is hard to see the whole picture when you can't stand up straight and look in the mirror so I am trying to get DH to take pictures of me in the meantime so I can start being wowed.
Thanks again for taking the time to answer us on the boards. Your posts are very comforting and educational. I will keep you posted on my progress.
