Bikinibound now sweatpantsbound...

Question:
Just a quick post for anyone who would like to say "I told you so!" Bikinibound can no longer fit in her jeans. Maybe it is my period- maybe it is that 4 week mark...but I am 2 pounds down and a size up. The jeans that 2 weeks ago had nice room in the waist are so tight when I button them!

I am staying positive though- just wanted to let those know that I wasn't immune to the 4 week swell. I am humbled!

Answer:

Don't worry just swelling, it sucks. Good news is, it gets better. Wishin' you happy thoughts.
Answer:

Swelling is the pits, but the good news is that it will go away (may take some time) You'll be back in your jeans, I'm sure of it!

Best of luck to you!!
Answer:

hey girl, hang in there..i get the tightness then i hunch over, especially if i sit too long then i really feel 49..lol. the other day i tried my preop jeans levis 505 size 6 stretch...oh yes no rolls, so idecided to wear it to do some errands, by the time i got home i was uncomfortable..i guess the jeans is hard on the tummy when you sit..since the tummy is still numb i cannot feel it..so i'll give it more time and now back to the stretch pullup pants....can't wait till the tightness is gone..take care
Answer:

I just posted a question about this. So 4 weeks is that swelling mark?? fortuanely I wear work out clothes all of the time, so noone will think anything about it. I think I will just avoid the jeans then!! I was so excited I weighed 163-4 before surgery and am now down to 152lbs. I will just humble myself and wait for my swelling to kick in........
Answer:

Hey bb, good for you..

You hit the 4 wk mark, recognized it, accepted and are well on your way past it..

Sounds much like I handled it too.. I remember thinking "Oh, this is what they were talking about.." I took a deep breath and blew it off.

It can be so easy to get caught up in the downward spiral at this point.. sounds like you've got a good handle on it.. Good for you!

Another week or so and you'll be thru the worst and on the way to enjoying your new bod!
Answer:

I've got so many sweatpants that I bought this past season...so at least if I'm stuck wearing them for awhile longer they'll still be in fashion!

Answer:

you'll be sure to have as many ny days as fat days while you travel down the recovery hwy

take my day for example:
[~9wks p-o]
I ran this morning, then snowshoed this afternoon....when I came home to change into my jeans, I COULD BARELY GET THEM UP AND CLOSED...the swelling was that hideous!

but,

only days prior, I was running around at the mall looking for new school pants since my current ones are all getting too big and baggy!

see?
Some skinny days, and some fat days!

Relax and enjoy them both. LOL
Answer:

You're too funnywith the Sweatpantsbound! At least you have a sense of humor about it! Here's to more ny days than fat days ahead!!!
Answer:

bb,

It is humbling isn't it. I didn't swell much in the beginning but it really hit me hard week 3 and 4. I found out that sitting all day at a desk can make swelling worse then moving around. Now I make myself get up and walk around every hour or so. Seems you can't under do or over do...

My 78 year-old mother-in-law said it's a shame I can't bounce back as quickly as she does after surgery

Feel better and keep drinking your water.
