Anyone else around 4 days post op?

Question:
How are you feeling? Looking for someone to compare and complain with LOL!
Answer:

Hi Bremsy -

I am 11 days PO. I can say its twice as good as 4 days, if thats any comfort. Personally, I was uncomfortable thru day 6 that was my turning point ( I have a really low pain tolerance - BIG SISSY here). Since then each day has seemed to get better. I am still so anxious to be back to normal. I am not going to rush it. I am thankful that my recovery has been good so far.

Answer:

That is good to hear! I wake up each morning hoping to feel a bit better and get a bit down when I feel even worse than the day before. I know right now is the tough part though. I am trying to focus on making it to Tuesday for my first post op apt when I will hopefully get these annoying drains taken out. I am a sissy about pain too. I am still really hunched over and my back is getting sore now too. Trying to stay positive though.

Thanks for responding! I was getting lonely.

I have went back to my PS twice since my TT and each time I felt so much better when I left. I think when I have to get in his chair it straightens my back up and I seem to be standing better and it really helps my back, for some strange reason. Do me a favor next weekend let me know how you feel. I can't wait to hear from you because I know you are going to feel so much bettter, probaly in a couple more days. I am here if you need to vent. I try to check in on the board a couple of times a day, since I have all of this downtime on my hands. I can say I do understand, just hang in there!

Hi Bremsy! I am post op 17 days, each day is a huge improvement, hang in there!!! I am a very active person and felt very overwhelmed at having to truly slow down. I took for granted getting in and out of bed. I have a sister that has cerebral palsy and my kids said I looked like her. LOL... This will pay off!!! I am sure. I just took my last drain tube out yesterday (I did it). Life is sweet. That drain tube can be ovewhelming too, mine kept moving around in and out. I finally taped the tube to the upper inside of my thigh to that it wouldn't feel any pull. That helped a lot too. I kept saying I can't wait to get to day 14, now day 21, etc... I am moving around fine now. Standing pretty straight, but walk around with what looks like a pelvic tilt. I am going to make a post about that. I hope you are feeling better and know you are not alone.

Hi bremsey!
We had our surgery the same day! I had a FTT/MR/HR/. I felt like death on Fri. Every day gets a little easier. Someone compared this to a c section. Oh heck I did better on my c sections than this!! I can't wait to go to ps to get the bandages off and drains out. I haven't seen anything and am getting very anxious!! I go Tuesday. Hope you are feeling better!

Hi Bremsy,

I am 10 days PO and as everyone else has stated, it really does get better every day. It wasn't that way the first week though and I got discouraged. It was like everyday I got worse! I finally got my drains out at 6 days PO and that really made a difference too. Right now, my biggest complaint is the isolation factor. I hate being inside at home for so long but I am too vain to go out walking all bent over like this

You'll be on the upswing in no time!
