Have Not Eaten in 5 Days, No appetite after TT.. why???

Question:
It's been 4 days since TT/MR/. I have noticed that everytime I eat, I feel like my stomach is closing up. Terrible pain. And I am not eating a meal, for example I had 1/2 cup of chicken noodle soup on Wed, for dinner last night I had 1/2 tuna sandwich on wheat bread. Everytime I eat, I feel awful!! I don't even have an appetite, I feel I force myself to eat just for nurishment. I thought the and all the pressure on my tummy made me feel full, but today I went to dr & had my drains, staples & pain pump removed, very relieved. He also took off the binder and all the dressing under the binder. I am now in a biker shorts garment, less pressure than the binder. So when I got home, I had some toast, I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE, it was so painful to digest! I felt so awful after eating. Is this normal?? I was about to ask the dr about it today, but I just assumed it would pass once all the padding & garment etc...was removed... Is my stomach pressed up against my body, maybe it feels full?? I mean, it's 3 in the afternoon, I ate 1 piece of toast today, and I have no appetite, and prob wont for the rest of the day.. Do you have any idea why my body feels this way??? Did anyone have this same experience??

Answer:

I had absolutely no appetite either. Just make sure your getting nutrition. I drank Boost with High . I was this way for probably 2-3 weeks.

I did also get an internal infection, and maybe the meds were part of it. But I didn't really hurt, I just felt full and nothing tasted good. Lost some weight in areas that I don't have to have now..(back area) , which made me happy.

Did you ask your PS about this? If not maybe you should call. Just make sure to get lots of protein...it is good for healing.

Take care

Ami,
I'm assuming you mentioned this to your PS and that he listened to your abdomen and you have bowel sounds. Have you had a BM? Anesthesia and narcotics can constipate and make your belly feel messed up. Make sure you're taking in lots of fluids. I also ate prunes and took stool softeners. Also, are you walking around? Exercise stimulates the bowels. I was having a slight nasuea problem on day 3. My doc made me come back into the office so he could listen to me and get my blood pressure. I didn't eat much when I was nauseated for fear of vomiting. At the time I still hadn't had a BM but as soon as I returned from the doc's office, I had a BM and felt much better. I think all of the walking helped too.
Hope this helps.

Answer:

Hi Ami

I lost all appetite for at least 6 weeks, no hunger at all. I think the pain meds made me lose perspective about hunger and food, also the pulling together of the muscles makes everything feel tighter so bloating seems major after very little food.

However I did not have pain unless I was constipated, so I would check it out with your PS.

All the best

I've had similiar issues. Like Stef said you could be constipated and need to get the flow going. I use an amazing product called Colonix found online, oh boy does it work! I am still craving pudding, cereal, light things like that and I am over 3 weeks out. I feel very full very fast. The pain shouldn't be happening though, as a Nutritionist I would say drink as much liquids as you can and some with good for energy and healing. Talk to your PS about the pain, something else might be happening with you. Are you eating jello? A good substitute right now for food.
