Question:
I don't know the cause, but since surgery several nights I am unable to sleep due to restless legs!!! I get funny sensations in them and I can't keep them still!!! I get relief when I get up and walk around!! I usually take a benedryl or over the counter sleep aid. Usually its 2-3 am before I am able to crash!!! Whats going on??? Any clues?? I am going to schedule an appt. with my family if it doesn't go away...I am tired of sleepless nights....BTW, I am on no pain meds...etc...
Answer:
I remember a couple of nights after my surgery, that my legs, around the shins and feet were tingling. It helped to get up and walk around. I feel very restless with my legs, mostly, I think due to sitting so much and sleeping sitting up and with my legs bent.
That's what I've experienced. I hope that it gets better for you. If not, a visit to your would be a good idea.

Answer:
Valium and Ambien helped me sleep and I did not get any leg restlessness. I drank lots of water to prevent charlie horses in my legs. I borrowed my mother in laws Homedics chair massager and used it to help the spasms in my back from lack of activity.
Answer:
NORMAL...lol...I'm still having sleep issues. I think it has to do with the amount of down time those first days and the hormonal shift. Your body is adjusting....It WILL get better. As for the restless legs, goodness yes!! I had those too, its from being immobile for long periods. Just try to get up every 2 hours and walk about your home, or out to the mailbox. Another tip to help the restless legs is to massage the calf area with a nice peppermint lotion. it will stimulate your legs and will also help dry . Good Luck!!

Answer:
Funny thing, I think that the restless legs was one of the worst parts for me! I would take sleep aid and I would kick right through it! SO I tried changing positions. I slept in a recliner for almost 3 weeks and I thing by body was just sing for a chaing and thats when the legs thing started. About two weeks. I couldnt lay on my side doe to my hip and to long on my back due to "upper but lipo" I would tuck s and blankets and squerm around untill I got it JUUUSSSTT right Its normal and it sucks but a 16-18 to a 12 overnight! WORTH EVERY BIT!
