Question:
Will be having FTT, BL and arms on March 2nd. I am worried about how long it will be before can come back to work. Sit at desk on computer so movement not an issue. Anyone with a glimpse it would be appreciated.
Answer:
First of all congrats and you've chosen a good day for surgery. It's my birthday:) teeheehee.....
I had my TT/MR on a Thursday and was back to work 11 days later. I went to a 7 hour wedding 9 days PO. It was a little brutal but I made it thru.
Good Luck,

Answer:
I was shooting for Day 10. It's now Day 16 and I am not cleared to go back to work until at least Monday which is Day 22. This totally kicked my butt-- I did NOT plan on the meds for pain making me sleep away every afternoon! I GROSSLY underestimated the time I was going to need...now, I did have an infection wehich set me back..but still-- GRRRR!

I replied to your reply a few minutes ago, but it was day 8 when I went back. You just have to remember to get up and move around. I felt better after a little walk around the office. I needed to do that otherwise I got very stiff. At lunch I went and sat in my car, put the seat way back and relaxed for about 20 minuted. The hardest part was drving home at the end of the day beacuse I was pretty tired. I didn't tell anyone at work I had surgery. I took the week before Christmas off and told everyone that I had last minute shopping to do, so when I got back it was business as usual. Just take is slow when you do go back and take little walks. It helps.
Good Luck!
Answer:
I went back today 10 days post op. It was a bit rough. I felt much more swollen today. I'm not sure if it was due to wearing different rather than my hospital issue garment or because I had drains removed yesterday. Either way, I was wiped out by the end of the day and could not wait to lie down. Really didn't expect to feel like that. I reallydidn't do much except sit and I did a bit of walking.

I went back to work on day 17. After 4 hrs. I was completely wiped out....today was even worse. I stand all day for my job. I have been sitting in between clients....taking a walk is the last thing I could even think about. I am standing up straight and most of my movements have really become easier...but this swelling creeps up on me and I feel sick tonight....listen to your body and your ps....

Wow, thank you all so much for your replies. You have actually given me a very encouraging outlook on what to expect. I have taken 2 weeks off of work for recovery and can do a couple of days working from home in addition if I need to. Thanks, will keep posted on how it goes.
