Question:
Ok, as some of you know I am obsessing over my drains getting removed. I think by Friday I will at least have one gone. Should I take it easy afterwards or does it matter? Does activity make you drain more? After all the surgery why am I so ed to get these out??? God help me if I get an infection or something!

i just got my drain out this morning. it was no big deal. she just told me to take a deep breath and she pulled it out. it was over in a few seconds. you've already been through the hard part!!! my ps said it would still drain a little bit on the gauze. then you just put antibacterial ointment on it with a Q-tip. don't worry, it really wasn't bad at all. it is just so wonderful to have it out!!! i went straight home and took a shower! good luck- you will do fine!! i did get to see my tummy for the first time today. and i was thrilled. still swollen and the belly button stiches are still in, but it is amazing to see a flat tummy again!!!

Thanks for the positive feedback. I wish I could stop thinking about all of it for awhile. I think reading about infections and all the stuff that could go wrong makes me think it will happen to me. I have a really weak stomach and get nauseous easy. My dh has to take care of the drains and my bellybutton and even when he does it I get lightheaded!
