Help! I have fleas

Question:
Well, they can't live on paper items, but they are very tiny, and they can definitely hide in and between... then pop out when you get them home! But, you'd have to be very unlucky for that sort of thing to happen.
That's crazy, though, that your friend doesn't get bit. I know mosquitoes bite people who wear dark clothes, and they're attracted to people who wear perfume (or otherwise have bodily odor). They find you by body heat - I don't think their eyes see like humans'. I wonder if fleas are like that, too? Maybe your friend has a lower body temperature than you.
Answer:

that is interesting, the only thing i could think of was that im a girl so maybe i have some kind of body wash or smelly lotion or some kind of smell attracting them.. they were jumping on me last night right after i took a shower.. im such a wuss and i half scream when i see one heh. also maybe they are attracted to lighter colors.. i wwas wearing white mostly and shorts a lot of the time and he always wears pants.. but he doesnt even wear socks so that bothers me because i wear socks and they get through them.. fleas sure are fighters!
so far so good though, havent seen any since i got home. im not too worried about what was in my backpack because i made it a point to not put it on the bed or couch or ground... i tried to keep it out of reach. hopefully i did! this also sucks because im going back to college tomorrow.. and i def. do not want to bring them with me to my apartment there! ugh and the itchy bumps everywhere.. and they look kind of bigger than most of the ones i got last time. i wont be going to the pool or wearing shorts this week haha.

We moved into a new house last year and the people that lived there before us had 2-3 little dogs. Most of the house was tile, but the bedrooms were carpet. The fleas didn't bother me, but they flocked to my Significant Other . His socks were covered.
We went and got some REAL Windex. Get the BLUE Windex (no other brand or color) and spray the carpets and furniture of your house. It worked for us!
Good luck
