Question:
I wrecked my motorcycle this past Saturday, and skined up my leg, my mid calf. I am not sure how to keep treating it. So far I have been keeping Neosporin on it all the time and I have to wrap it up at night to keep from messing up my sheets. It is an area the size of my hand (rather large) that is skinned up. It seems to be slowly healing but it hurts bad when I first stand up or first start walking, and when I stand still, but if I elevate my leg it quits. I don't know if I should keep putting the Neosporin on it or stop and let it scab up?. I want it to heal fast with the lest amount of pain.
Answer:
I would continue to use the neosporin as that is supposed to help healing and less scaring. Did a doctor check it out?
Answer:
no, I did not think he would do any more than I have done myself, and I would have been out of $35 just to visit with him for a few minutes...
Answer:
Make sure you keep the area clean by rinsing it with salt water at least once a day. Continue with the Polysporin and keep the area bandaged at all times.
Answer:
Hi....definitely warm/hot salt water soaks once a day. Bandages shouldn't be too tight. If you have trouble keeping them on, then use part of a panty hose leg to hold it in place while you sleep.
It takes a while to heal...hope you feel better soon!
