Weird taste in mouth...

Question:
Hi,
Ok this is weird but, i always have this really funny taste in the back of my throat. I dont know if it comes up from my stomach or lungs, but i taste it especially when i breathe in, also through my nose. I dont know what causes it but it always stays for a week or so. I dont really think it causes bad breath. It's this kind of sweet undescribable taste, and i always get it after eating oreo's, but also at other times.
Please let me know if you have a similar problem!
Thanks

Sounds like you have sinus drainage most likely caused by allergy to something in the air. Mucous from sinuses will cling to back of throat and then when you breathe thru mouth or nose the air passes over the mucous. If you eat oreos, they will cling to mucous causing the sweet taste.
Try irrigating sinuses with salt water solution. I use 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1 cup boiled water, mix well, strain thru paper coffee filter, fill clean nasal spray bottles, LET COOL. To use lie on back on bed with head hanging off. Squirt a few squirts into each nostril, turn head slowly side to side, say "kkkkk" while getting up to keep solution from running down throat. Gently blow nose if necessary. This salt water solution will help cut loose mucous high up in sinuses. Keeping sinuses cleaned out will help prevent bad breath when it is due to sinus drainage.
At night when I have sinus drainage I take 1/2 to 1 teaspoon plain Robitussin. Robitussin thins mucous in throat during the night.
