Grinding sound in neck on movement

Question:
I went to a chiropractor because I had a neck pain so he did some manipulations on me which kind of helped my neck. Now I have this grinding sound in my neck when I move it downward. It doesn't hurt or anything and it is a slight sound but when it is quiet I can hear it. Should I be concerned about it and will it go away?
Answer:

Because of the fact that its your neck, i wouldnt ignore the problem. Best move would be to call the chiropractor that did your adjusting and ask him about it.
Answer:

It really sounds to me that you have bone rubbing against bone somewhere in the C spine area.when my fusion did not take,i had this horrid crunching sound upon movement with the neck area.I eventually needed hardware placement to stabilize the area.i know that this is not what you have, just trying to make a point here.I think it is highly possible that while during one of your adjustments, the chiro might have somehow caused movement to one of your vertebrae.i also get a snapping type sound once in a while(old age?)but it is different than when I had that bone crunching sound. This wouldn't necessarily cause pain all the time either.I think at the very least, you need to talk to your primary doc regarding this to see if an MRI or CT might be needed to assess any possible movement and displacement of a vertebrae, before it ends up shifting onto a nerve and causing you major problems down the road.Just a suggestion.Keep me posted,K?
