Metalic taste in mouth all the time

Question:
I have had a slight metalic taste in my mouth which seems to be coming from my upper teeth for some time now. I don't know what is causing this but here's some information if it will help...
40 year old male
Tobacco chewer (smokeless)
I take Atenolol and Prevacid
I have sinusitis, rhinitis and other allergies
I do have a number of cavities
The only other time I can ever remember having this metalic taste/sensation is when I've taken certain antibiotics. Not sure if any of this is helpful but any help I can get, I'd sure appreciate and thank's!

Most likely it's just gum disease or periodontitis.
Answer:

On Will and Grace, when Grace was on her first date with Leo, she asked the same question and he asked her if she keeps her mints in her coin purse.
On a more serious note, my mom associates this taste with the taste of blood. I believe that would be a sign of gum disease which she suffers from.
Do any of you prescriptions list this as a side effect? Might want to ask your dentist and your pharmacist about it.
Answer:

I have heard of fillings causing this. Check with your dentists.
