Question:
no, what should i ask to get tested for that. Doesnt someone else in my family have to have it, becasue nobody in my family or extended family has it.
Answer:
ask your doctor to test you for diabetes its as simple as a few blood tests but frequent urination is one of the symptoms. And no it does not have to run in your family to get it anyone can get diabetes
Answer:
Would there be more severe symptoms if i had diabetes? I always thought that people with diabetes had severe problems.
Answer:
The main symptoms of diabetes are:
Increased and excessive thirst
Frequent urination -- sometimes almost hourly
Unexplained weight loss
Blurred vision and persistent fatigue
In women: frequent yeast and bladder infections and sometimes missed menstrual periods
Frequent urination alone without these other symptoms is HIGHLY unlikely to be diabetes. When they say urinary frequency in relationship to diabetes, it means having to go so much so often it really is interfering with your day.
But if you continue to feel uncomfortable, see your doctor for a simple blood test.
Just for your info-Diabetes is a controllable disease and people w/it do not necessarily have serious problems if they take care of themselves and are vigilent about insulin, diet etc.
I still think it's unlikely you have it unless you also have the above other symptoms.
