Question:
You can catch mono from someone who is a carrier (Like I did). I didn't share saliva with anyone - but I was diagnosed with mono in January and probably had it for months because of the way I was feeling.
You can catch it if you're completely rundown and if someone coughs or sneezes around you.
I was very tired for a long time. I also lymph nodes that were very swollen. You can ask the doctor for a monospot test and then a more indepth test to show what your levels are and how far along the disease is.

If the person is a carrier and you drink out of the same glass that has their saliva on it (which when you drink, you leave your spit on the glass) yes you can catch mono. Most people by the age of 5 have the mono virus.
If you are rundown and someone sneezes or coughs and they are a carrier, then you can catch it.
It's not a "kissing disease" anymore. Many pages that have mono information will tell you that.
