Question:
Hey everyone! I made it thru just fine and my seems to be the least of my problems. After surgery I was unable to urinate. I had to be catheterized 3 times because the anethesia caused the neck of my bladder to quit working. I was sent home with the catheter in. Today I was able to take it out and the plumbing is once again in working order. I've been taking Flomax to help with waking up my bladder. I didn't even know that I may experience this type of problem, but I wanted to let others know it's a rare but possible occurance.
Here are some pics taken the day of the surgery.

YOu look great, thanks for sharing. Little bit swallon ..
Answer:
Anethesia is a funny little thing. As amazing as it is, can cause many side effects. I am glad you are doing well.
Answer:
Thank you roxy and hunny!
I'm very surprised at how little pain there is afterward as far as the goes. It was more painful when the nurse attempted and missed a vein while trying to start an IV. This was right before my surgery and started a near hysterical crying attack that didn't stop until I was "put under". I think about it now and realize I was being ridiculous, but you couldn't convince me of it at the time. Everything is going smoothly
I'm still taking it easy though, just kind of lounging around getting up every now and then. I have a post op appt. on Monday. Not sure if the splints are coming out then or not. I will keep y'all posted
Answer:
lol a panic attack?? did it hurt that much
Answer:
The misplaced IV hurt like hell, but everything else has been pretty easy going. I was super ed because I had never had surgery before and I was going over every worst case scenario in my head. I've had a pretty easy recovery except today when my stitches were caught in my drip pad. Hurt to pull off the gauze.
Answer:
My nurse missed my vein too!! It surely does hurt like hell. It's been 11 days and I still have the bruise and pain when anything brushes the area lol not fun!

haha ouch man that must suck. My iv need somehow got bent when inside my hand, i remember it hurting a bit but i was on pain meds so that must've lessened the effect. your story is much more funny to imagine though.
Answer:
I had slight bladder issues too...nothing like you though. I had to force myself to urinate, it wouldn't come naturally...and I was going every 15 minutes it was crazy!!
Glad to know things have worked out though but it is nice to post this info so people know that bladder issues CAN happen...
