Got my 1st compliment Saturday...

Question:
Got my 1st compliment Saturday......Well, actually it was stated as an INSULT, but I took it as a GRAND COMPLIMENT!

I'm 3 weeks post u/l abd and flank . I went to visit my daughter this weekend and I wore a slim-fitting t-shirt tucked in to low rise jeans and a REALLY big bling, bling belt (yeah, I know, I'm too old to dress like that at 50). Anyway, my daughter (she's 21) looked at me and said "Mother, you don't look right" and I replied, "but this is the outfit you bought for me right after Christmas. Did you forget?"

and she replied: "NO MOTHER, YOUR WAIST IS TOO LITTLE!" I've never felt so complimented in my entire life! Anyway, I thought about what she said for a while and I realized, she's NEVER seen me in her entire life without my "lapped over pouch" that was supposed to be an abdomen which always made me look about 6 months pregnant! She's just never known me any other way. But that's O.K., I'll take my compliments any way come!!

Phyllis,

Thank is Fantastic:) Congrats! Hey, there is nothing wrong with wearing those bling bling belts and cool clothes at our age. I'm 47 and I refuse to dress like I'm my Mother's fifty. Afterall, our fifty is the new thirty, right? LOL....... U take care and enjoy that little new waist you have.

That is wonderful Did she know you had it done? My 17 and 20 yr old are always teasing me saying I am too hot at 52 ..they love it.
Answer:

Yes, she knew I had it done. I think she was just shocked to see me without an "appendage" that I've had all of her life. Ya know, it's kinda like buying a house that has a huge tree right in the front yard and then 21 years later cutting that tree down. For some reason, the house "just doesn't look right".

I now feel like I did before I had my first child 27 years ago, FLAT! I was always flat before I had children (3), but with my 1st I stretched and tore (my o.b. dr said it was because I didn't have any elastisity) and after my 1st baby, my belly always looked like a severely deflated balloon. BTW, my weight gain with my 3 babies was only 27 lbs, 31 lbs, and 19 lbs and the babies themselves only weighed 6.4 lbs, 7.10 lbs, and 6.2 lbs respectively. The O.B. dr told me 27 years ago that the damage was done and there was nothing I could do to "fix it" except have a sometime in the future! Well, the "future" is set for 2/13/06
