Question:
Hey!!!
Its been nearly a week since my to my flanks and inner thighs. They took out 4000ccs.. is that a good amount??? I'm wondering, should I be very swollen now? and if I am, how long will it take to go down??? xxxxxxxxx
Answer:
Yes so common. I am day 11 I had 4350CC removed on U/L abs and hips
flanks
I think the more you have removed the harder it is
I have suffered quite a bit with brusing and swelling
The is cutting into my sides where I now have lumps around the indentations...how nice
But today or tomorrow I should get my stage 2 garment with no zippers
I have had to take a lot of patience pills and know swelling can last up to 6months...its all how our different bodys heal..
take care
Answer:
I'm 6 days post op for knees, calves, ankles and I'm very swollen right now. This is my second surgery and I remember being quite the balloon this time last time, too. By the 2 week mark, I know most of it will have finally gone and the residual will take a good 4-6+ months to dissipate. I had my thighs done 2 months ago and that is definitely mostly healed, but I can also see where I'm a little swollen still.
But Spring is still a few months away, so plenty of time to heal before shorts and skirts season.

We are PS twins! I had my surgery on Tuesday Jan 16th too!
I had 2000 cc's removed (and about 1200 put in my butt) and I had NO BRUISING! I was going to ask my PS if he forgot to me, but he confirmed that he didnt. Today most of my swelling has gone down. I actually look presentable. My PS said that in one week, 50% should go away and by week three 70% should be gone and the final results in three months.
I have been drinking a lot of fluid (water and pineapple juice), walking around my home a little, and rotating my ankles when in bed to assist the healing process.

BonaFideDiva - Lucky you! I can't wait to see the pics!! End of Week 1 today and I feel pretty good. The swelling has definitely gone down now. If no bruising, does that also mean no swelling too? How you liking your new bootie?
My bruising on my first surgery was truly black and blue and took a long time to go away. I'm also on low-dose aspirin daily, so my blood takes longer to clot and get absorbed back into the body. This time around, it was "normal" bruising and is already yellow and green, but this time was less volume removed, as well. I told my PS to be aggressive (and he likes to remind me of this LOL) even though he uses a small cannula it makes a difference. I think if a PS is slower and gentler, it will show in the amount of bruising, but then I'd have to pay more for OR time. I'd rather be bruised.
