Answer:
I had selection by vaser in Dec 04. My areas suctioned were my upper and lower abdomen, bilateral back, hips and flanks. It ran me about $7000 which was after the price break I got for being a returning patient.
The vast majority of my swelling was gone after 4 weeks and I went down 1-2 sizes in pants. Defintely wel worth it.

Can you clarify for me - is Vaser the same as Smart Lipo? I get pretty confused with all these names.
I have an appt this Saturday with the consultant to discuss Smart Lipo. I booked this as a possible alternative to the traditional method where the PS warned me about further sagging & lumps. However when I told the nurse that I was considering another method, she was very dismissive of it! Maybe she simply didn't want to lose a customer!
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Answer:
Liz - Vaser, tumescent, super wet, ultra sound, selection, and Smart Lipo are all different types of procedures. Smart Lipo is new to the U.S. as of September when the FDA approved it. As far as I know, there are only a handful of s that have been trained as of yet.
Smart Lipo is different in that instead of sucking out the fat, it involves injections that melt/dissolve the fat and then the fat is then expressed out of the body by your own lymphatic/cleaning system. It is also the only form of lipo that supposedly helps tighten , which is another reason why it's so popular. It's also more expensive, especially right now when there's so few s performing the procedure. I also believe it is meant for smaller volumes like cheek and neck areas. Recovery is supposedly a lot easier, too.
Smart Lipo is a trademarked name, so don't be fooled by someone selling something like lipo dissolve, which IS different.
It's really new to the U.S. so there's still little information to be found on the Internet (although I just did a search and there's already more than a month ago.)

Thanks Hurtzsogood! I'll let everyone know what they tell me this weekend & pass it on.
Smart does seem to be getting more & more publicity over here in the UK with apparently a few practitioners in London. I'm hoping they're not all novices!
Answer:
Vaser lippsuction is a more refined form of ultrasonic suction. The probes are suppose to have less heat than the ones used for US lipo and it's suppose to have less bruising and swelling than the regular ultrasonic.
