Tiplasty - thick skin

Question:
Hi all
I'm having a tiplasty in a few days to remove excess cartlidge from my . Trouble is i've been told by my ps i have very thick meaning the healing process will take longer as it won't drape too easily over my new nose. I'm just wondering what my nose will look like when i first get the cast off... does anyone know?

I appreciate that it won't look like the final result eventually will - but does it mean the skin will literally be hanging off it until it shrinks down?

Also - i'm having an open procedure... what are evreyone's experience of swelling afterwards?

Thanks guys

Answer:

I doubt it would be hanging, but it'll appear more blobby (probably like your pre-op ) and not really defined. I have thick too and am 1 month post-op...
Answer:

Thanks sandman.

Are you pleased with your result? Did you have open or closed procedure?

I hope my doesn't look to strange for xmas

Answer:

I just had plasty and my PS told me I have thick ..and I had a tip graft.

For about two weeks after surgery my looked pretty piggy. After that I started seeing improvements little by little..after 3 weeks or so I started to like the way it looked.

I don't think it will look like its hanging at all...it will probably be swollen and will slowly shrink.

Open procedure for me too.

Yeah, I am really pleased with the results so far. I'll post some pics tomorrow so you can have a look. I had closed surgery and had a hump removed, a little tip work done, and bridge shaved down and narrowed.
Answer:

I had an open procedure, a revision with Rollin Daniel in Newport Beach, CA. (949) 721-0494

He shortened my , took away my droopy tip (did a graft), and made my entire nose smaller/project less...

I have thick , and he is having me tape it every night, and I am 6 weeks post-op now.

It was very swollen at first when the cast came off, and still is in the morning or if I eat salty foods, but looking better every week.

Patience !

I have very thick skin and had an open procedure. It does take much longer for us thick skinned people and the result isn't always defined as we'd like. Mine is a little improvement, still waiting to see what happens in the end! If you pm me your email address I'll send my s. Would be great to see your before photo too if you'd like to send it.
Answer:

I have thick skin too. I am having revision rhino this month on the 27th because my tip isn't as defined as I would like it to be and my bridge is still a bit wide.
