skin problems!

Question:
I don't know if this is somehow related to the surgery or what, but in the past few days my has been breaking out bad. I have never had a breakout before in my life. I think I saw someone mention a while back about their skin being more oily since the surgery. Mine has been really really oily and I guess now it's taking it's toll. I'm sorry if this is gross but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. One other weird thing....ever since the surgery the left side of my jaw has been locked. I can barely open my mouth wide enough to get a bite of food in. It hurts really bad... if I yawn....forget it. I've always had mild TMJ problems, but mostly just clicking and popping. In the past it would lock up but for maybe 10 minutes....this has been going on for 3 weeks. I'm wondering if they had some tube down my throat during the surgery and had my mouth wide open or something and that's what caused it.
Answer:

Hi

The breaking out could be due to the adhesive from the cast or the swelling in your forcing the sebaceous glands to overproduce. I don't have this right now but I read about it and am prepared for the worst. I hope this clears up quickly for you. Good Luck!
Answer:

my said I could use medication as long as I dont get in on the where the stiches were. Plus, I use cotton pads w/ facial to clean my face and . I've had no breakout yet. cotton pads are the best to get at clogged pores.
Answer:

Well having the type of that can break out as a result of just about anything I am used to it. I generally enjoy pretty clear skin but I do have breakouts on occasion.

Like right now Sara...

I am broken out on either side of my and WHO KNOWS what lurks beneath the tape I have to leave on for 3 more days. I'm sure its not pretty. I hate so much. But there is little I can do. For me its usually hormonal. I take good care of my skin but at the same time I was fully expecting a nasty breakout with my surgery just because I know how my skin can be and the likelihood of that occuring with my skin.

I feel your pain. I am SURE that if you don't normally break out this is just temporary. I use a soothing minty face wash from especially for acne prone skin. I really like it. It seems to help clear me up faster.

Also maybe try and avoid till its clear? Works for me sometimes
Answer:

Sara,
I have noticed that the pores on my seem a bit bigger and that the is oily too. It's quite annoying.
Answer:

Mine too...I was thinking that a facial might help but my is still so sensitive...how long do you have to wait before getting a facial?
Answer:

I'm not sure. I think it would be okay after 2 months. I'm 2.5 months post op and my nose is still fairly sensitive so I'll wait.
