Hi, I avoided the stronger pills as well. I have learned from the past not to take them unless it is a MUST. I had my surgery at 7 pm and once I could think for myself (at about midnight) I did not take anything stronger then extra strength tylenol. I took it at the times the bottle said I could. Make sure you sleep propped up...it will help with the throbbing. I was able to handle the pain.
It is horrible to feel ill in the tummy.

James, which pills are making you sick (to your stomach? are you eating?). I am only taking the antibiotic (have two more pills left).
My throbs more now - since the splint came off yesterday. I'm thinking that there is swelling filling in where the splint was? I'm not taking anything (except tylenol) and I am a very big baby when it comes to pain threshold.
If you are sick, you may want to call your 's office. The nurses in my doc's office are always so good about responding to my concerns.
One thing that I do have is a deep, productive cough. At least I can cough the stuff up.

I couldn't really eat though my appetite wasn't too good feeling ill
yeah i think since the cast came off my has been more throbbing because the cast kept all the pressure in
I just took tylenol hopefully that helps

James, I was on prednisone, too. That's a steroid and I HATED the side effects. Glad you feel better, buddy.
This may be in the realm of TMI but I moved back to the bedroom last night (had been sleeping on the recliner in the LR). Had to sleep on a thing with a pillow under my knees. I just don't want to screw up my nose by accidently smooshing it.

I just had my op last thurs. and was doing horrible!! I think it was a combination of the anestesia and the vicode. I am seriously think it is b/c of the anestesia. I felt the same way after my appendicities. At the time i thought it was the effects of the appendicities. I was talking to my and he said anestesia can have an effect on people. Hope u are getting better.
