Question:
......... Has anyone on here had to go for a review of their ssd ? .... I just got a letter informing me it was time for a review of my case after 5 yrs and to fill out a questionare form they sent about my condition.... I was wondering if anyone has gone through this process and what I should expect after I fill it out and return .... it say's they could choose to stop my payments.... .... and how long do you think I will have to wait before they inform me of my review ?....when I got my ssd they told me I may be reviewed every 3 to 5 yrs do they think after 3 heart attacks and chf with only 28 % efraction rate, also heart disease that my heart would fix itself ... my dr. told me the only thing that would help is heart transplant... any info on this would be greatly appreciated.... Thanks... Dee
Answer:
My review is 5-7 years so I am very interested in the responses you get.
I would think your current physicians would also get a form to complete?

It is my understanding from those that have already gone through this process that it is routine. They request records from your current doctors and doctors that had treated you before if you have changed doctors. They look to see if there has been any improvement, or decline and if you have been seeing a doctor on a regular basis. This process is to help prevent those that have been approved and then their condition has improved or they have not sought out any further medical treatment or continue medical treatment and have not informed SS of the improvement. It's also a way to catch those that are getting SSDI and commiting fraud.
Now my condition has no chance of improvement. My award letter said that I could be reviewed in 5 to 7 years.
I've also been told that depending on your age at the time of your review you will be notified and then if you are in the "older" plus 60 group they will just collect data and add it to your file. This was told to me by my husband's SSDI attorney. I was wondering because my hubby went for the appeal and won and I was wondering how he might be reviewed when that time would come, plus I was wondering about myself.
Hopefuly someone that has been through a review will post and we can all get some first hand current info.

I went through it. It was just filling out a questionaire. CAn't remember if i had to send new dr. notes or just sign releases. Nothing happened. Still getting my check. I think it's just routine.
