is anyone living with Agorophobia?

Question:
I have been living with this since the age of 10.
When I was uncomfortable in situations while at school I would leave and go home.
Through High school It was to the point where I didn't bother to stay I would be dropped off at the front door and leave through the back!
NOBODY did anything about this behaviour not the school ,not my Mother she referred to me as a school phobic!
When in my 20s I did complete college as a mature student, but have always felt very uncomfortable because all the years of school I missed basic multiplication, division, history and geography.
I was able to work a few years until meeting and marrying my husband, then I was safe I didn't have to work!
I left him 5 years ago and am right back to my childhood behaviour of not working, avoiding volunteering at school functions everything!
I am the single parent of a 9 yr old and want to join the land of the living again!
I take Effexor XR for depression what else can I do?
Answer:

Hi mom, were you anxious your whole life?
Answer:

Yes I have avoided situations where I am uncomfortable for all these years. It did improve 18-25 yrs of age but is now back with vengeance!
Answer:

imsydsmom, i can really relate to the agoraphobic. I have always had signs of it but just got diagnosed a couple of years ago, it can be a real damper. I get so bad sometimes i can't go anywhere by myself, or i won't go anywhere at all. I My biggest thing i will not drive at night alone at all. I will never drive highways or long distances. It is a hard life to live and only us agoraphobics can understand. It seems the older i get when i really have bad downfalls and takes longer to get somewhat back to normal. Anytime you want to chat i'm here!
