what do you do for fun?? - Page 2

Question:
Hey Becky,

I wish I'd have seen this sooner (I've been away since last week,) corn mazes can be fun, if they are nice ones with groomed trails and then there are the crapy ones that are hard to walk in because the ground can be uneven, with ruts and debris. I've been in both and the later is of course miserable! I hope all went well for you guys.

As for what I like to do: I love to read mystery, suspense, thriller and crime novels but I will pretty much read anything (romance novels are my lest favorite thing but I'm not completely against them); along with autobiographical, biographical, and non-fiction works. I could literally read for days on end.

I also love music, singing, playing (terribly on the piano!) and listening. Broadway musicals rock and I wish I could see so much more than I have.

I wish I had the time to watch more TV, I'm a total Grey's Anatomy fan (it's all I regularly watch) and anything domestic (cooking, decorating, home building, etc.) is interesting to me.

As for things I do OUTSIDE of home... there really isn't a lot here... I don't like clubs, bars or eating out. I do love the outdoors, canoeing, camping, and walking in the woods in something that I enjoy and wish I had more energy for. Glad you're back with us!!
The corn maze we went to was, well, not one of the well groomed ones. (It was just a family run one)we went with a group of friends, and when we got there, we realized that Tygh wouldn't be able to go through because the ground was so lumpy he would have had a hard time in his electric wheelchair. SO he enjoyed staying at the dining area they had and eating his lunch and waching all the crazy little kids run around and do the other activities that they had going. Thank heavens Tygh is such a good sport in times like that. He was happy just to be out in the fresh air and sunshine for a while. Needless to say, the ruts were hard on me, too, because my right ankle started to hurt. well, we did have fun, though.

I forgot to mention that Tygh also loves music and loves to sing and would love to learn piano and also enjoys camping (even though we hardly ever get to do it).
Good night everyone!!
Becky
Answer:

I also like to read...have any of you checked out the Lincoln Rhyme series by Jeffery Deaver? If not they're really good...The Coffin Dancer is my favorite, then The Empty Chair. (The movie The Lovely Bones with Angelina Jolie and I think Morgan Freeman is based on one of his books.) The main character is in a wheelchair .

Anyway, um other than that I like listening to music, I LOVE watching sports and cooking shows on TV. And I don't have many friends but I like talking to the ones I do have .
Answer:

I am visually impaired as well as having mild CP so it's through my involvement with the visually impaired where most of my social time is spent.

Outside home, I bowl and belong to a 150 member strong social club. Through this club we have once a month social dinners, card tournaments and away trips. Visiting with friends and doing the mall thing works for me. I love to be outside during summer evenings listening to the night life in the creek and, go fishing when I get the chance.

A group of us from the club get together and go to a camp run for the blind, visually impaired but, there are others there with disabilities such as CP.

In home, I love to read (audio) thrillers, suspense, that kind of thing. Watch old movies and TV shows, Y&R and DOO too. Cooking is right up there along with music and crafts. I also have a keen interest in the unexplained. Right now, my challenge is to change the color scheme in my living room without spending mega bucks doing it.

I live with my hubby of 15 years and the thing I enjoy most, is spending together time with him. He like me is visually impaired and neither of us is in the work force but he puts right wrongs with friends computers and that keeps him busy and I volunteer with the cancer society.
