Question:
I dropped a pan of boiling water on my hand and arm 6 days ago - went to A&E and they dressed it in silicon bandages, which i removed last night as the itching was driving me crazy! I am due to see nurse later today but thought I would ask advice for any good treatments? It is fiery red with little blisters under the skin, looks like it feels ie still painful! I thought maybe soothing it with something like tea tree oil, or vitamin e oil or even aloe vera cream may help - does anyone know or have experience of this? Thanks! Kel
Answer:
I am not sure if this will work on a severe burn and if it will work so long after it happened. When I get a bad burn I put mustard on it till the mustard dries. It takes the pain right out and speeds healing. I use regular mustard out of the fridge. Once I had burned my tip of my finger so bad that even under the nail hurt and it worked for that one too. Like I said don't know about severe burns but this is a trick cooks use.
Answer:
If you can get some Silvadene cream (and aren't allergic to Sulfa drugs), that might help.
Answer:
Taking zinc and vitamin c by mouth can help speed healing.
I would hesitate to apply anything to the wound without your doctor or nurses approval
