Question:
Well I just got back from my drs. appt. and he felt my abdomen and had me hold my breath and took my medical history and all. He ordered a upper and lower abdomen xray which I got right after my appt. Monday I get a colonoscopy and endoscopy and he ordered all sorts of stool tests that i still have to do. He said there is a good chance of malignancy. He told me it may be lymphoma. I had no idea you can have that in your colon. I was so scared...I called my husband to watch the kids so I could get my Xray. I told him that my family dr. did a CBC test and it was all normal so I asked him if that would mean that I donot have cancer and he said that it means nothing and I then asked him if I am young if it means I will have a good fight and he said I would have a better fight but it depends what it is. He was a great dr. and he is at a great well known hospital. I am just so nervous. I was up all night with pain and the runs with bloody muccus.
Any ideas??????
Answer:
I forgot to add that he felt my abdomen and had me hold my breath. What is the reasoning of that?
Answer:
I know it is easier said than done, but try not to stress out too much. It sounds like this dr is really on top of this by getting you scheduled for the endoscopy and colonoscopy by Monday, so it sounds like you are in good hands.
A lot of the time a dr will ask you to hold your breath so that they can get a better feel of the different organs.
Try to take things one day at a time and know that even if it is cancer, there are lots of different treatments that can be done. It isn't the most pleasant time, but it is doable. You are in my prayers. Please let us know how you are doing and definately what you find out Monday. dee
Answer:
Well I just heard back from the dr and they Xray results came back that I had a lot of stool in my bowel. He said to still go ahead with the colonoscopy and endoscopy and all. I asked him that since the abdomen xray showed no masses if that would a good way of knowing that when they go in there that they will more then likely see no masses and he said that the masses may not show up on the xray and the reason for doing it was to look for stool and nothing else.
So after I got off the phone with him I was thinking...
1) Would it have showed if my lymphnodes werer swollen in my abdomen
2) Why is there so much stool? Is there a blockage?
Answer:
I couldnot thank you enough for all the prayers and help in figuring out what is "wrong" with me.
Here is what is going on. Years back I went to a dr. for bloody diahrea and nothing was done. Within the past year I started going from being constipated to having diahrea and the dr. said my Xray showed lots of stool and sometimes I feel like I gotta go and others I donot and wouldnot even know the bowel is full. When i do go it is either soft or diahrea with lots of red blood and muccus through it. I have stomach pains and lower back pains. Also I have been to tired lately to the point of not being able to do anything. I have severe headaches and neck pain and I itch all over to the point of breaking my skin open from scratching so hard.
He did a Xray and next week I have a appt. to get a colonoscopy and endoscopy. I talked to the dr. last night and asked some questions and once again it was like he was leaning towards cancer...lymphoma.
Anyways...if you have any info. I would really like to have it!! I appreciate it!!
