i wanna know from people who have had a LEEP done, how bad does it hurt
it says, "not painfull just some cramping" on a site i saw, but i wanna know what you all think... im having this done on friday and im so nervois...
Answer:

Hi,
I had a leep the end of june. I was nervous too. It turned out to be pretty
easy at least in my case. They give you a local to numb you, and then there
is a little cramping just like a period. The cramping only lasts a few days. I've talked to some people who had a reaction to the epinephren. They use it in the local so you don't bleed so much. It makes your heart race a little. So I asked them not to use it and they did'nt. They just used regular novacain. you can request it if you want. After the leep I spotted for about two weeks, and that was it. It only takes about 45 minutes. You'll do great. It sounds scarier than it really is.

Good luck, I'll be praying for you.
Answer:

I had my LEEP in May. I was asleep during the procedure. The only thing that hurt was when they put my IV in. I woke up in NO pain at all. I had mild cramps for a week with some minor bleeding.

The worst of it for me after the procedure was the cervical cream I had to apply for a week or two. I have sensitive skin and since I had to wear pads for a couple of weeks, my skin was raw down there. The cervical cream irritated the skin. However, even this was minor.

Try not to worry or be scared. Many people have said that the LEEP is easier than the colposcopy. I do agree! Take a deep breath...everything is going to be okay. Keep posting because we are here to help you through this.
Answer:

I am not sure that I know the difference between a LEEP and a cone biopsy...I do know that I had the cone and it was done under general anesthsia...and when I woke up the pain was incredible...I felt like I was in labor, only with no breaks between the contractions. This lasted for a good three-four hours. Pain medication offered no relief. I don't know if this had anything to do with the amount of cervix that they removed, but I do know that I cannot undergo anymore procedures of this nature as I have very little of my cervix left..about a 100th...no joke. I had two trips back to the ER for hemorraging which really makes me question them having done this procedure over the hysterectomy..too late now. I feel awesome today. Regardless, prepare for the worst, because I did not. I thought it was going to be a piece of cake, in spite of the fact that my doctor told me it would be anything but. Please bear in mind that I had four other procedures performed at the time of my cone, but I still believe the cervical work was responsible for the majority of the pain. I read on one of these blogs that the cervix has no nerve endings...I was corrected big time by my doctor. She said "what do you think causes all of the pain during labor? So, if it hurts more than these other women say, then it is quite OK...we are all different.

Hi,
A cone is not the same as a leep, It's more invasive and definitely more painful.
I agree that the leep was not as bad as the colposcopy. I was'nt given the option of a general, but even with the local it really was'nt that bad. Try not to worry. Take a long walk, some deep breaths, it will be over before you know it.

Please let us know how it turns out. Were here for you!
