Question:
It has been a week today, and of course I am so afraid of a call from him.
Of course it is just a bit over 4:30PM, and still time for them to call, but just wondering how long it takes for results!
If they see something bad won't they call you immediately?
Anyone have a clue!

Ok. I spoke/wrote too soon!
The Doctor just called and said that my biopsy from Colposcopy came back absolutely NEGATIVE!
BUT
She said that maybe she missed something and to be sure they want me to have a LEEP done. She scheduled it for may 4th, but I am having hip replacement on May 1st, so she said she will discuss it with another doctor and see if I can wait until after the operation about 4 weeks.
I am wondering why the pap came back HGSIL/CIN ll? Could there have been a mistake? Could those results have come from someplace else?? Doctor said she does not know why it could have come out that way on the pap, but again wants to make absolutely sure, so of course I will get the LEEP.
Ok folks, thanks so much for reading my dumb posts, and for all of the great encouragement!
I now have to just sweat having the LEEP and what results come from it, but I am MOST grateful that it showed NEGATIVE at this point.

I had the same thing happen to me. My original pap was CinIII, my colposcopy confirmed CinIII. I had a LEEP in Sept. and that came back ALL CLEAR! Very strange. I had a follow up Pap in Jan. that came back moderate. SOOOOOOOOO i went and got a second opinion/colposcopy. I just got the results back from that and it was again GONE with clear margins. So i guess HPV can do some pretty strange stuff. The Dr that i saw for a second opinion just sent everything out agian just to be 200% sure. I'm still waiting for those results, but the Dr said that they should be the same.
It's good to know that im not the only one this is happening to. As long as we stay on top of it and go for our paps i believe we will be ok.

These results can sure be puzzeling/confusing. They have not even told me if I am HPV or what! I have no clue!
What I do not understand is why they can't simply re-do the pap, and not do a LEEP since the colo came back negative?
I donot know what would make a pap be abnormal with HGSIL/CIN ll results, then have the colo and nothing is there.
It is all confusing

why dont you consider getting a second opinion before going to LEEP? PAP's are just indicative but the colpo should be accurate so if it came back negative, you should be able to control it without LEEP. I'm assuming that your doc took biopses therefore she saw abnormal growth and/or she might have seen uncelar margins that's what making her opting for the LEEP.
If I were you, I'd go for the hip replacement first, than I'd take another PAP/Colpo before going for the LEEP.
