Question:
Hi everyone I hope you dont mind me joining your group, I have been searching for hours for a similar discussion forum in Australia but cant find one!
Here is a brief outline of my story as i dont have too much time right now;
June 2005 I got my frist Minor Abnormal Pap Test Result ever.
Jan 2006 Go for my 6 month follow up - result comes back saying possible CIN2 Cells, my GP was Very concerned with this and had already made me an apptment with a Gyno in 2 days time.
Go to the appt with Gyno he does Biopsy and wait a week for the results, they come back showing defiante CIN3 Cells he scheduled me in for LEEP 2 days later.
Wait for results of that and find out that the suspected CIN3 cells were infact Cervical Cancer Stage 1b.
He advises the only course of action in his opinion is Radical Hysterectomy.
He wants to do the operation ASAP but I advise him im getting married in March so he says its ok to wait until after the wedding but it has to be straight after.
March 2006 I got married on the 18th and admitted to hospital for my Operation on the 21st. Operation goes well and spend 7 days in hospital, I get the biopsy results from the operation a few weeks later and the Doctor advises me the Cancer was much larger that initailly thought but thankfully had not spread into any other organs or Lymph Nodes.
May 2006 start a 6 week course of Radiation Treatment as my Doctor advises as more of an insurance there are no Cancer Cells still around in the Pelvic Area.
So that me for now - im 2 weeks away from the end of my radiation.
This whole thing came as such a shock to myself and my family, I am only 29 and luckily was blessed all ready with one child
Answer:
Sara, you sure have been through it, haven't you! Good luck with the rest of your radiation treatments, and I hope you never have to worry about this ugly disease ever again!
Answer:
Thanks for replying Karen.
I have 6 treatments left and counting down!
The only thing im worried about ow is my ovaries, my Gyno left them in when he did the hysterectomy, but after having the Radiation there is still a risk now that they will have been damaged and I will go into early menoupause.
They can start doing blood tests in three months to see what is happening.
Answer:
Hi.
This is a strange request being that you are here asking for advice your self.
My friend is 27, has two kids and had two tennis ball sized ovarian cysts removed earlier this year.
She keeps telling me shes fine and it was nothing serious but recently she let slip that she has been offered a hysterectomy cos shes been bleeding since her op. And that she had "malignant dysplasia" lasered out. Ill be honest im ignorant about this stuff but im not dumb, im starting to get a bit freaked out about what shes not telling me. Its huge for a chick to be offered a hysterectomy at that age huh? And im not sure but i think this Malignant Dysplasia thing is a cancer term.
I know this is a big ask but as you seem to be going through something similar andyou r in the same part of the World as you.(WA) I figure you know a bit about the terms that shes thrown at me. Im just wonderng if you might be able to give me some idea if I should be more concernd than shes letting on.
Thanks for any help.
