What's a biopsy like (nervous)

Question:
Hey, I'm new to the board. I've had an odd bump on my skin that has changed colors, texture, size, and began bleeding. It's light pinkish brown which isn't what I think skin cancer looks like.

I'm not asking if it IS skin cancer because I know no one can tell me that without a biopsy. However I am scheduled for one next tuesday and I'm a little nervous so I was wondering what it's like to get a biopsy.

I will admit it, I'm very squimish around my own blood, needles, or anything having to do with taking something out or off my body. Actually, I usually faint so I full expect that. I'm more nervous about the biopsy than what they find out as silly as that is. So I'm just wondering what it's like, what I should be prepared for. I know this is a bit babyish but everyone has their hang ups and fears. I'm not scared of skin cancer but i'm scared of a biopsy! lol Any comfort or advice would be great.

I had a biopsy done a few months ago on the side of my leg. I was a bit anxious myself, but it was literally a piece of cake. The Dr. did numb the area with a small shot, but there was no pain whatsoever from the injection. The anesthetic worked within a few seconds, and she simply removed the spot in question. I know it's one thing to read about this and it's entirely different to experience it. Don't give it a second thought, though. It honestly won't hurt, it's very quick, and I wouldn't hesitate to have it done again...assuming I had to.

No worries!

Two days ago I had my 15th and 16th biopsies. The worst part is a little sting from the needle (I wiggle my toes as hard as I can while they're doing that part). After that you're numb and if you don't watch, you won't even know what they're doing.
The healing process is the worst worst part. It will usually itch pretty bad and hurt but I've found that to be a good sign. The ones that haven't hurt have been the bad ones because they were all cancer.
Even if you faint it's better that you just get it done and I think you'll be surprised at how easy it is!! GOOD LUCK!!
Answer:

I agree the only pain you will feel is abit of a sting from the numbing meds. its not bad and its over quickly then you won't feel a thing. Its really not bad at all. I just had two on above my lip and one on my forhead.
